Battery Update only sells and supplies 9 volt alkaline Duracell batteries.  If your smoke alarm uses other types of batteries, then a Battery Update subscription is NOT for you. 

With a Battery Update Subscription

Battery Update will NOT install your new batteries for you.

Battery Update WILL mail you the number of Duracell 9-volt alkaline batteries you specify each year.  

Instructions

When you receive a package from Battery Update in the mail we recommend, and you should:

1.                   Get out that stepladder!

2.                   Remove the old battery from your smoke detector.

3.                   Immediately insert and install a new battery according to your smoke detector's manufacturer's instructions.

4.                   Complete steps 1-3 for each smoke alarm in your house.

5.                   Pat yourself on the back that you can cross that task off your list for one whole year.  Fires Kill.

What if I am unhappy with my Battery Update Subscription? 

Your satisfaction is guaranteed and you may cancel at any time.  Simply send Battery Update an email stating your desire to cancel and Battery Update will issue you a prompt refund of your unused subscription

What if I move?

In a multi-year Battery Update subscription, approximately one month before your batteries are to ship, we will send you a reminder email.  Simply let us know at that time if any of your information has changed and we will update our records accordingly.  Of course, please feel free to email us prior to that time about any address changes.

How does a gift subscription work?

Gift-givers can order subscriptions for friends and family for the desired subscription length and number of batteries needed.

What if I do not know how many batteries my gift recipient needs?

In that event, Battery Update will bill the gift-giver in two stages.  First, Battery Update will bill the gift-giver for the subscription and send the recipient notice of your generous gift.  The recipient will then have the opportunity to respond to the gift-giver and Battery Update with the number of batteries needed.  The gift-giver will then be billed for the correct number of batteries.  It is that easy!
